The High Definition version of the video for Devils in The Sky is now on Youtube along with the standard version. The video isn't really that important, it's more about the song for which I am fiercely proud.

 You can see it here.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this video

Getting published

Posted by: admin in Music

Well I have to say that I was SO impressed by the whole RecordUnion.com experience that I decided to sign-up as an A&R to try and spread the word locally in Farnham and to perhaps give people that opportunity to get discovered, have some fun, and who know - maybe help discover the next Bob Dylan or Black Eyed Peas.

So here it is, my official RecordUnion.com business card for my A&R.

To learn more about this service and the process click here, read this blog, or please do feel free to contact me if you have any questions of my experience with the service.

If you want to sign-up click here and remember the use the UPC code above to get your 2 free UPC codes worth £20. It's totally free to sign-up so what have you got to lose?

Published already!

Posted by: admin in Music

Well I have to say I am ultra impressed. I originally wrote my article on self-publishing on the 20th September - the day I uploaded my tracks to Recordunion.com.

About 2 weeks ago my material appeared on AmazonMP3.com. About a week later iTunes and today Nokia has joined the fold by ingesting (that's the technical term) my tracks into the Nokia Music Store and making it available for both purchase and through the excellent Comes With Music Service. The proof...

 Here's the album I uploaded...

And the single...

I'm waiting to see how long it takes for reports on my success to come through (i.e. number of downloads) but I won't be giving up my day job just yet.

How to self-publish music - The easy way

Posted by: admin in Music

Tagged in: self-publish , recordunion , publish , music

One of the biggest challenges with writing and recording your own music is getting it out there. Now the web certainly throws up ample opportunity for you to post you music, but how can you really monetise it and how can you do it simply?

We I came across the answer a few days ago and already the results are visible. I posted a Single and an album last Friday and already (on Sunday) the single and the album are available on Deezer.com and AmazonMP3

This is afairly dramatic turnaround and I fully anticipate being published on Spotify, iTunes, Nokia Music Store etc etc in the next weeks.

The answer lies in the great site called RecordUnion, you create your profile, upload your songs with any other information you wish to add like artwork and lyrics etc,  you need to purchase a unique identifier code for you album if you haven't already got one (it's only costs a tenner), and then hit "go".

You can then sit back and wait for your music to be sent round all the digital music store partners (it can take up to 4-5 weeks according to RecordUnion) and the greta news is, should anyone be daft enough impressed enough with what they hear and actually purchase your music, RecordUntion will ensure you get paid as well (via Paypal)!

So fo all of you out there with the material, but without the distribution, RecordUnion is the place for you. Sign-up, upload, but don't hand in your notice just yet....

If music be the food of life.....

Posted by: admin in Music

Well I suppose that over the last few months there have been times that I have felt emptier than I would hope. I mean, I do have EVERYTHING in my life and I am complete, but still there was something.

I've always been really keen on music and I get any music I want through the fantastic Nokia Comes With Music service so it wasn't a lack of access to music that I was missing. And then it dawned on me. I was missing playing it myself and going through the process of writing and recording.

The first step to my recovery is to place my music on this site for "the world" to hear. It reminds me of what I have been capable of in the past and will drive me to make beter music.

I'll be tweeting and blogging about this and photography from now on and getting the mix back into my life that I have been missing.

So in reference to the title of this post;

...Play on.
